Hyderabad: The Government of India ministry of health and family welfare has implemented a new law in May 2017, COTP act for No smoking and Hookha Centers, the Commissioner of Police Hyderabad City, M. Mahender Reddy, said.
Smoke Free Places: Smoking is completely banned in many public places and workplaces such as healthcare, educational, and government facilities and on public transport. The law, however, permits the establishment of smoking areas or spaces in airports, hotels having 30 or more rooms, and restaurants having seating capacity for 30 or more persons in admiration to the outdoor places, open auditoriums, stadiums, railway stations, bus stops / stands are smoke free. Sub-national jurisdictions may enact smoke free laws that are more stringent than the national law.
That, In the upcoming day Hyderabad city police will take stick action giants the Hookha centers in public places likewise Coffee Shop, Hotel, Hookah Parlors who were serving hookah in public places and Hyderabad city police commissioner given instruction to all zonal Dcp’s, Acp’s, SHO’s and to take stick action against the Hookha Centers as per law and in future day Hyderabad city will become Hookha free city and the youth will get free from the addiction of smoking, he added.
