Hazrath Khawaja Hamiduddin Nagori R.A was one of the most famous Sufi saints of India and he was a follower of Hazrath Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti R.A, one of the most outstanding figures in the history of Islamic religious studies and founder of the Chistiyya order in Ajmer, India and whose firm faith and Unity provided the necessary intellectual support to his spiritual mission to bring about emotional integration of the people amongst whom he lived, the central principles that became characteristics of the Chistiyya order are based on Hazrath Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti R.A, many teachings and practices.
Hazrath Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti R.A in other words understand religion in terms of human service and encourage his disciples “to develop river-like generosity, sun-like affection and earth-like hospitality.” The highest form of devotion, according to him, was “to redress the misery of those in distress to fulfil the needs of the helpless and to feed the hungry.”
Hazrath Khawaja Hamiduddin Nagori R.A was the first Muslim to have been born in Delhi, India.
