Gautam Gambhir’s sincere comments on selectors take On Yuvraj Singh’s India Future

The Gautam Gambir who was one of the Indian international cricketer commented on the selectors that ‘rest wasn’t the right word use in this particular case’, in the matter of batsman Yuvraj Singh who is the big smashing batsman missing from the Indian squad for the ODi’s and one-off Twenty20 against Sri Lanka, The Indian team, currently proved as one of the best and fit international teams around the globe, goes through a series of fitness drills, through a test match is considered one of the major parameters to judge a player’s fitness. Then why the left-hander was not considered for the Sri Lanka limited over’s series. Chief selector MSK Prasad said “Yuvraj has been rested,” adding that “doors are never closed on anybody”.

The Gautam said that I don’t think rest is the right word for Yuvi, because he hasn’t played any cricket for India in the recent times to prove his capability, he wants to play now, he should be given the maximum opportunity to see him at the World Cup. As someone like Yuvi, you want him in that flow and you want him in that rhythm. You can’t have someone like him playing in one series and resting afterward, it will be very tough for Yuvraj to get back into the team going ahead, So I feel that it’s difficult now for Yuvraj to make a comeback, unless selectors give him a chance hopefully, he does because he is one of the greats of the game.
