The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won an important Delhi by-election on Monday, Goa’s Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has won in Panaji and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has won the Nandyal seat in Andhra Pradesh, with the next assembly elections next year.
The most important victory is of Ramchandra of AAP in Delhi’s Bawana, because it gave Arvind Kejriwal’s party a much needed psychological boost. In the context of the number of voters, Bawana is one of the capital’s largest constituencies, but only by August 23, only 45 percent of the turnout was voted. Chandrasekhar won with more than 55,000 votes, Three types of battles were fought mainly in the Bawana assembly segment, in which the ruling AAP, BJP and Congress won.
Incidentally, the BJP has fielded Ved Prakash, who won the constituency in the 2015 elections as AAP candidate. In fact, due to abandoning the assembly to join the BJP, the reason for the by-election was due. The last important sub-election BJP won in Rajouri Garden and it was considered a big setback for AAP. But due to Monday’s results, the Aam Aadmi Party has restored some faith, it seems.
Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh: This high stake battle, won by more than 27,000 votes by TDP, it was a personal competition between the TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress President YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The real participants of these parties were TDP’s Bhuma Barmanand Reddy and YS Congress’s Shilpa Mohan Reddy. TDP won 50 percent of the vote.
This colony was essential after the death of Bhumu Nagi Reddy, which in fact had left YSR Congress last year to join the ruling TDP. TDP’s Naidu and YSR Congress chief Reddy saw high voltage and bitterness campaign in this constituency.
Police have registered a case for alleged comments against Reddy that Naidu will be shot dead and killed. The Returning Officer also issued a warning letter to Jagan, because the leader is the leader for violating Model Code of Conduct. Polling for this 23rd by-election was more than 80 percent, Nandyal elections are also seen as a referendum on TDP-BJP rule, before the 2019 Assembly elections.
Goa’s 2 by-elections: The BJP won the Goa sub-elections in Panaji and Valpoi constituencies. Chief Minister Parrikar was a BJP candidate in Panaji and he won Rome only with his nearest rival, nearly 5000 votes. The BJP had kept Panaji as party MLA Sidarth Kuncolienkar had resigned from the seat, from which Parrikar was able to contest elections in the state capital.
Valpoi was won by BJP’s Vishwajeet Rane. The first seat organized by Congress, was the benefit for the BJP. Rane was the Congress MLA of Valpoi. His resignation as a Congress MLA for joining the BJP, which was necessary for the colonization. Rane is the Health Minister in the Goa Government.
