Mumbai: The Mumbai is facing severe weather conditions, weather officials believe that it could be the heaviest and longest session of rain since July 26, 2005, when the city was affected by floods, It has been raining continuously since morning and if it continues till high tide in the evening, the India’s commercial capital could be in for hours of flooding, traffic jams and stuck cars on the roads, Weathermen believe the rain could continue for 48 hours in some parts of the city, So far, the rainstorm has been heavier than usual, Rain in the past 12 hours has flooded some low-lying areas and Slowed down traffic in some areas; some train is running late.
Reports have been issued by the weather officials that in some parts of the areas like Sion, Dadar, Mumbai Central, Kurla, Andheri, Sakinaka areas might be the over flooding, The Met department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain for at least the next 24 hours in Mumbai city and its suburbs, One of the shopkeeper said that “Every year it’s the same story, the roads are bad anyway rain brings double the problem and takes more time to recover it”.
