Hazrath Syed walShareef Kamaluddin bin Muhammad bin Yousuf AlHussaini R.A. Is commonly known as Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz R.A.
He was a famous Sufi saint from India of the Chisti Silsila (Order), and he promotes understanding, tolerance and harmony among various religious Muslim groups.
The Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz R.A was a Murid (follower) of the well-known Sufi saint of Delhi, Hazrat Nasiruddin Chirag Dehalvi and After the Pardah of Chiragh Dehlavi. The Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz R.A has taken the responsibility of the successor Khalifat and when he moved to Daulatabad about 1400, remaining to the attack of Timur in Delhi, he has taken the Chishti Silsila to South India. Then he finally settled down in Gulbargah District, Karnataka, India. At the invitation of Bahamani Sultan, Taj Uddin Firzu Shah.
The People from various walks of life, irrespective of caste and faith, will assemble even today to celebrate the URS (Pardha anniversary) which will take place on the 15th, 16th and 17th day of Zul-Qa’dah of Muslim Islamic Calendar at the famous Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz R.A Dargah in Gulbarga every year. Thousand of devotees from near and far irrespective of religion and beliefs, gather to seek blessings.
