Hyderabad: The Jamaat-E- slami Hind Organised a Round Table Meeting and Appeal the Indian Government to Welcome and provide better treatment to the Rohingya Muslims.
The Concern Citizen Forum Telangana State gave a representation to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and appeal for safeguarding the Rohingya Muslims by Welcoming and provide better treatment to the Rohingya Muslims.
The representation reads as the Rohingya Muslim is the most Persecuted and ignored communities on the earth. The community is subjected to genocide and persecuted by the hands of the military Junta of Myanmar State.
The President of Iranian, President Hassan Ruhani and Turkey Tayyab Erdogan says if UN will be silent now then we will break all barricades of Border, we can enter in Burma our Army is ready to Save our Muslims Brothers and Sisters in Burma and we can’t wait much if UN will not take a action, said in a Press statement.
Rohingya Muslim are the citizens of Myanmar, since centuries they inhabited in the Arakan Province of Burma bordering Bangladesh. Since the independence of Burma in the year 1948 till 1962, they were equal Citizens of that country. In the year 1962 when military co-opt the democratic government and established a dictatorial government, this community was disfranchised under the dictator law of the citizenship act of 1962. Since then they are being humiliated, persecuted, their children, women and Men are butchered their homes and villages are torched and burnt. They need full support from the government of India on humanitarian grounds for protection of their life and dignity.
India has a long historical tradition of providing refuge to the persecuted communities of the world and is being continued even after independence also, Today we have over 3,78,600 refugees from the following countries:
1. Buddhists from Tibet – 1,50,000
2. Muslims from Afghanistan – 9,000
3. Hindus and Christians from Sri Lanka – 90,000
4. Hindus, Muslims & Tribal from Bangladesh – 7,000
5. Christians and Muslims from Somalia – 400
6. Muslims from Palestine – 200
7. Hindus from Pakistan – 1,15,000
8. Rohingya Muslims from Burma – 7,000
We have opened our door to different persecuted communities irrespective of their religious beliefs and ideological differences. This is our credibility in the international fora. The government of India should reconsider the statement given and action carried out by the honorable union minister of state for home affairs, Mr. Kiren Rijiju regarding deportation of Rohingya back to the place from where they fled.
The statement of the honorable minister violates the idea of India, article 21 of the constitution of India and the international law as well as our own golden traditions of sheltering the persecuted people and group.
The Supreme court has given the verdict many times on the issue related to refugees in India Viz
1. The State is bound to protect the life and liberty of every human being, be he a citizen or otherwise (Ref. SC Judgement in NHRC v/s Arunachal Pradesh 1996).
2. The constitution Provisions must be read and interpreted in a manner which would enhance their conformity with global human rights regime (Ref. SC Judgement in the tight to privacy case – 24-08-2017) Thus deportation of Rohingya Muslims amounts to transgressing the well-established international Law – Principle of Non- Refoulment i.e No Refugees may be pushed back to their place of origin if there is any apprehension that such person will be subjected to the very suffering from which they fled.
3. The principle of Non-refoulment is required to be taken as part of the guarantee under article 21 of the constitution. The court added that this would be in keeping with golden traditional of this country in respecting international committees and according good treatment to refugees.
The concern Citizen Forum of Telangana state in their meeting held on 06-09-2017 in Hyderabad discussed the issue and unanimously decided to submit its representation to the Prime Minister for Consideration and action.
The Forum Demand that:
1. The government of India must welcome Rohingya Muslims and rehabilitate them till they return safely to their country.
2. They must be well treated as long as they stay in our Country and withdraw all orders which may hurt their lives and dignity in India.
3. The Government of India should use its good office in Myanmar to convince the Mynmare leadership to resolve their political issue justly and amicably. This is in the interest of our country. As the burning borders will certainly affect Us.
Further, in the meeting Moulana Hamid Mohammed Khan appeal to all Muslims scholars, Huamn saving activist, to spread awareness about the suffering of the Rohingya Muslims on Friday, he said that he is giving representation to Burma government, Mynmare government, Government of India UNO and Human Rights. He further said that social media plays an important role and appeal the News Media to Show the Truth.
