The Aadhaar is a requirement document to every Indian citizen for many important tasks according to the latest rules, From filing income tax returns (ITRs) or submitting applications to obtain PAN (Permanent Account Number), quoting of Aadhaar – the 12-digit identity number issued by the UIDAI or Unique Identification Authority of India – is mandatory, among all this, it is paramount for individuals to check the validity of their Aadhaar numbers.
Minister of State for Electronics and IT P Chaudhary said in August that UIDAI has deactivated nearly 81 lakh Aadhaar numbers,” Mr. Chaudhary had said in Rajya Sabha that they are not maintaining the details of Aadhaar in the state wise or a year wise and reason-wise data by the UIDAI, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on micro blogging site Twitter during the same month that the government had announced it officially, nearly 9.5 crore people had linked their PAN with Aadhaar.
How to check if Aadhaar active or valid
The UIDAI has provided online tools to check Aadhaar status through its portal, called the UIDAI Resident Portal – resident.uidai.gov.in. This website is “an online window for the resident of India to access various Aadhaar-based services and information in a disturb free and quickest possible way”.
To ‘Verify Aadhaar Number’ facility, which can be accessed by a link given by the UIDAI with appropriate tools arranged by the UIDIA,
After going through the link can it takes it to the UIDAI website home page, spotting and clicking on the ”Verify Aadhaar Number ‘ option,
Once on the ‘Verify Aadhaar Number’ page, enter the details as specified against the given fields, In the second field, called ‘Enter Security Code’, fill in the code as displayed in the image and push ‘Verify’.
If the 12 digit Aadhaar number is valid, the next page will display a message confirming the status of the Aadhaar number entered is exists,
On completion of the verification process, the tool displays the last three digit of the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar database and the age range of the holder, among other details,
The page says the number “doesn’t exist” at the end of the verification process, If the Aadhaar number which we entered is incorrect.
