New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman allegedly raped in a park near the Red Fort by a 30-year-old taxi driver, The taxi driver Chunku Kumar resident of Shastri Park has been arrested by the police today. The incident occurred yesterday. The woman has alleged that the taxi driver Chunku Kumar raped her on the pretext of dropping her to the bus stand, from where she could go to Ludhiana.
The police said that the complainant claimed that after coming to her brother’s house in Noida she came to New Delhi Railway Station on the night of 11th September and bought a train ticket for Ludhiana, This train will depart at approximately 4.30 pm on September 12, Police said.
The police said that she came out of the waiting room at around 2 am and accused Kumar started talking to him, she alleged that he had lied to her that the train was canceled and offered to leave it till the bus so that she could go to Ludhiana. However, the accused Kumar took her to Golden Jubilee Park near Red Fort and raped her. The accused person dropped the victim at the old Delhi railway station and run away, The victim approached the police and lodge a complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the accused person, further investigation is going on, Police said
