Ahmedabad: The Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam of the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday recalled the barriers to his government to successfully complete this project, Describing the Narmada dam as “an engineering miracle”, Prime Minister Modi said that a big wrong information campaign was launched against the project. He said that due to obstructions, the river Narmada was the worst damaged river. “In the obstacles created by the forces against the Narmada project, Maa Narmada has suffered the most,” said Prime Minister Modi. After inaugurating the Sardar Sarovar Dam, the Prime Minister was addressing a rally in the Dabhoi district of Gujarat.
The Prime Minister said that his government has crossed “all the conspiracies” against Sardar Sarovar Dam to complete the project. “When the government refused funds, we decided the World Bank or No World Bank; we will build the Sardar Sarovar Dam with our hands. When the World Bank refused to give money for Sardar Sarovar Dam, temples of Gujarat project to complete the Sardar Sarovar Dam project, we won all the conspiracies against Maa Narmada, Narmada will become the center of tourism, Modi said.
The Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need for development of water resources in the country, “There is no major obstacle for development compared to water”. “As Chief Minister of Gujarat, I visited the BSF post and had no water to drink, I had decided that I would bring Narmada water to the Jawans of my country in the border of Gujarat, which is 700 km away When a son gives water to his parched mother earth, then there can be a big feeling of satisfaction, “he said. He expressed gratitude towards the tribal’s for sacrificing their land for the project. I want to thank the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, and my brothers who have left their land.”
Presenting his view of “New India”, Modi said that he will continue to work for the dream of the people. “I will not leave any stone un-turned to get a New India like Mahatma Gandhi who had previously acquired a New India.
