Hyderabad: The Telangana state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gave incentives and subsidies to the dairy sector. Accordingly, farmers will get 50 percent subsidy to buy 4 liters of milk and buffalo as an incentive. The Financial incentives starting from September 24 will be applicable to all Dairy Development Committees and will be tailored to people enjoying by Vijaya Dairy Development Society. Other prominent societies are development committees of Mulkanur Dairy, Nalgonda, Rang Reddy and Karimnagar District.
Through these societies, 50 percent subsidy will be implemented for farmers purchasing a buffalo. If the subsidy is from the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes community, then the subsidy will be 75 percent. In return, the Chief Minister asked every farmer to name six plants in the house and name after the names of the family members. This plan will start after two months. As was done in the case of distribution of sheep a few months ago, the beneficiaries would have to identify themselves and buy buffaloes. Subsidy will be done through the Dairy Development Society.
Addressing a large gathering of dairy farmers in Pragati Bhawan Lawn, TRS announced that a comprehensive plan for the development of dairy sector would be started in the state. In three main societies, the total milk production in the state is about 7 Lakh liters. Karnataka State is supplying 6 Lakh liters, Andhra Pradesh 4 Lakh liters and 2 Lakh liters in Gujarat. Milk production is very small compared to the demand of 10 million liters. Looking at this scenario, milk revolution is necessary and I will personally prepare the plans, the Chief Minister said.
