Hyderabad: In a fierce incident, an eight-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered by his uncle on Friday due to jealousy in the old city Hyderabad. Police said.

The police has arrested his uncle Mir Jawwad, who had allegedly picked the deceased boy from historical Bibi Ka Alawa, after offering fruit juice and taken him to an isolated place and killing him with cruelty. Since the boy had not returned home, his family had lodged a police complaint. The police picked Jawad in suspicion and the accused confessed to the crime.
Deputy Commissioner of Police V. Satyanarayana said that Jawad killed the boy out of jealousy as his grandfather Qamar Hussain Razvi is the bearer of ‘Bibi ka Alam’, an insignia of the martyrs of Karbala. The boy was with his grandfather in ‘Bibi Ka Alawa’ for the establishment of ‘Alam’ on the first day of Muharram on Friday.
The accused bore a grudge against his brother-in-law Qamar as his son Shabbir Hussain Razvi and later grandson will succeed him as Alambardar and custodian of the ‘Alawa’. The accused son had died after falling into the sump at the house of Qamar in the year 2008 and the accused used to blame the negligence occurred by the Qamar’s family and responsible for his death. The police were investigating the case from all the angles as the accused also had some property dispute with Qamar.
The police are investigating the case to ascertain that there was another person involved in the murder case as the accused had allegedly made some phone calls to criminal after the murder.
The murder on the first day of Muharram surprised the Qamar’s family, who was preparing to follow the first month’s ‘Youm-e-Ashura’ or the Tenth day of the first Month of Islamic calendar.
