Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police thwarted an attempt of an auto driver to sell a four-year-old boy for one lakh rupees, which had been abducted from Rajendranagar two weeks ago. The police rescued the boy from Andhra Pradesh’s Guntakal and arrested the kidnapper Sunkara Gangaiah, who is from Guntakal. The boy was handed over to his parents on Friday.
According to the police, Gangaiha was selling Ayurvedic medicines on the road. The accused found many children in this area and decided to kidnap and sell to the childless couples.
The accused saw Nagesh who was playing in front of his house and kidnapped him. “He seduced the boy by giving him chocolate and kidnapped him. Later, he went to Guntakal through the train,” MS P.V. Padmaja, DCP Shamshabad said.
Meanwhile, the father of the boy Sharanappa lodged a complaint with Rajendranagar police, which cracked the matter with the help of his counterparts in the Guntakal. The boy was handed over to his parents and the accused Gangaiah was arrested and send to judicial custody.
