New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Honeypreet, the adoptive daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Honeypreet’s lawyer Pradeep Arya said, “We are examining the order and how to take further.”
The High Court passed the order on the ground that she had refused the arrest and hence she was not entitled to any discretionary relief. The court said that she was wasting time with her action and it was only a camouflage that she applied for bail in the Delhi High Court.
The prosecution counsel, said, “she has filed an application in Delhi High Court, while it should have been done in Punjab and Haryana High.”The Delhi High Court has said that the jurisdiction of Delhi is not here, and he is not eligible for bail because he is avoiding the arrest.
The prosecutor’s lawyer said, “As far as surrender is concerned, it has been abandoned”. The court had asked Honeypreet’s lawyer to show any document that any property in Delhi was related to her. The Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal said, “The easiest way is that you are surrendering,” the 36-year-old woman was asking why she was seeking anticipatory bail of transit for three weeks. In her application to the court, Honeypreet has alleged that she is facing life threats from the drug syndicate of Punjab and Haryana. In his bail plea, Honeypreet had mentioned that she is a pure woman and that is the law. She has also said that she is ready to join the investigation.
The Panchkula police had raided the A-9 Greater Kailash, Delhi on Tuesday, with arrest warrants for Honeypreet but did not get it at home. The property is named after Dera Sacha Sauda.
That, In the case of rape in the afternoon, on August 25, a special CBI court in Panchkula has stopped Honeypreet from running for Dera chief’s conviction. Priyanka Taneja alias Honeypreet, adopted daughter of Dera chief, is at the top of the list of 43 people ‘desirable’ in connection with the incidents of violence by Haryana Police, who had followed the punishment in the case of Rama Rahim’s rape.
The Honeypreet, against whom a lookout notice was issued by the Haryana Police, was first reserved in the Sector 5 police station of Panchkula. In connection with the violence in Panchkula on August 25, the police had registered the accused Honeypreet in FIR No. 345.
