Hyderabad: The History sheet Sonu Dangar allegedly made a derogatory remark on Prophet Mohammad and Islam in a viral social media, video, Accused escape from the team of Hyderabad Police on Monday. The three-member team of Charminar police was sent to arrest her from Rajkot, similarly the Gujarat Police is also looking for her.
The police team searched her house in Akshara Nagar and it is suspected that she fled from Uttar Pradesh. Assistant Commissioner of Police Charminar K Ashok Chakravarthy said, “With the help of Gujarat Police, our team is trying to find the accused person. We have some information on their movement and will be tracked soon.”
Last week, a massive protest was held in the old city area of Hyderabad, and several Muslim organizations organized a rally from Charminar to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone, Hyderabad. The group was protesting against the alleged abusive comments on Prophet Mohammed on social media, which had become viral in the last two weeks. Protectors took photographs of women and defeated him with slippers, shouting slogans, and demanding her arrest.
A police officer who saw the video told that the video had many derogatory on the Muslims. The woman also allegedly argued that the most sacred site of Islam in Mecca was actually a temple of Lord Shiva which used to call Makkeshwar. The claim, in fact, is a conspiracy theory, popular in right wing blogs and websites in India, which often associated with the principle that the Taj Mahal was a Shiva temple gifted to Mughal Emperor by a Rajput king, which was called Tejo Mahalaya.
According to the police officer, this woman used many derogatory words about polygamy in Islam, while constantly humiliating Prophet Mohammad. The Dangar’s video also snatched several ‘counter’ videos, which are also being broadcast on YouTube and Facebook.
The Hyderabad Police registered FIRs under section 153 (A) of IPC (promoting hostility between different groups of religion) and 295 (A) (deliberate and malicious acts to humiliate religious feelings) of Indian Penal Code.
