Hyderabad: The Telangana CM Rao has decided to give water for the second crop through Singur for 2 lakh acres of land, The aim to give water for the second crop, when the Telangana state is formed has becoming a reality now. The farmers’ dream of having water for the second crops in the district of Telangana State is old Nizamabad, Medak districts is going to be fulfilled. The Hon’ble Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to give water for the second crop through the Singur for Two lakh acres of land.
The Ministers T Harish Rao, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy have requested the CM for the release of water from Singur to Nizam Sagar to give water to Two lakh acres of Land for the second crop as there is 29 TMC maximum level water in the Singur. By releasing water through the Singur, Two lakh acres of Land in Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Andol Constituencies will get water for the second crop. The Ministers said it is the desire of the Telangana people to have a second crop. at present after the formation of Telangana state, the opportunity came now. Since the canals are ready if 9 TMC water is released from the Singur to Nizamasagar which has 3 TMC of water, there will be 12 TMC water.
The Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the farmers will use the judiciously and will go for a second crop in 1 lakh 20,000 acres. By releasing water from the Singur, Ghanapuram anicut can be filled and gives water to 30,000 acres, under Andol lift irrigation scheme another 40,000 acres will get water, the Harish Rao said CM has positively responded to their requests. The CM said under the united AP rule farmers here were not able to get water for their first crop, currently since there is an opportunity to get water for the second crop, it should not be missed. He has orders for the release of 9 TMC water from Singur to Nizamsagar. Harish Rao said water will be released from Saturday evening itself. The CM has instructed TS Genco CMD D Prabahakar Rao to start hydal power generation as Singur as water is being released. The Prabahakar Rao said 15 MW power will be generated from Singur.
