New York: In a horrific Incident, A 25-year-old Indian-origin woman was left to die in a blazing car by her driver after a fire crash in the US City, police said.
The Harleen Grewal was burned to death on Friday; the 23-year-old Saeed Ahmed slammed his luxury Infinity 35G sedan into a concrete obstacle on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, New York Daily said. The driver left the female passenger to die in the fireball after call over a cab to take himself to the hospital.
When the firefighters set the fire, they found a woman who was badly burnt in the passenger seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Although the car was still in flames, That, Mr. Ahmad took himself to the “Maimonides Medical Center”, the police said. He was being treated for burning his arms and legs, the report said.
The police caught him in the hospital and charged him with murder and other charges. His conviction was pending in the Brooklyn Criminal Court, the report said.
That, Mr. Ahmad had been going out of the traffic on or before the expressway prior to the hurdle of his car. Mr. Ahmed, who lives in Flatlands, had admitted to drinking some drink before the accident but was not legally drunk when he was tested for blood in the hospital. His brother Waheed however, claimed that his brother tried to save the passenger, hit the barrier, it said.
The Waheed said that the girl in the car was trapped in there and tried to take her out, that’s why his arms were burned.
The boyfriend of Ms. Grewal, who worked for a catering company, said that she was a selfless person, who always cared for others. The report said, “He will do anything for the people,” her boyfriend Karan Singh Dhillon said.
