Hyderabad: The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Revenue, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, in the a meeting at his chambers in secretariat reviewed the functioning of the Director Minorities Welfare and the Minorities Finance Corporation, Telangana State and the implementation of various Minorities Welfare Schemes. The agenda points included loans and subsidy Schemes, Training and Employment for the year 2014-15 to 2017-18, Distribution of Sewing Machines and Establishment of Computer Centres.
With regard to overseas scholarship scheme it was reported that the online receipt of the applications are in progress and will be accepted upto 12.10.2017. The Hon’ble Dy.CM directed to extend the time for online receipt of applications upto 31.10.2017 so that the eligible candidates get sufficient time for preparing proper documentation of their applications.
With regards to the subsidised loan schemes majority of times it has been observed even after the approval of loan to beneficiaries after due diligence by the minority finance corporation, the banks are refusing to approve the same from their side citing various reasons.
The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister proposed providing 100% subsidy schemes without the need of beneficiaries needing to go to banks for consent, this will be done after apprising and taking due consent from the Hon’ble Chief Minister very soon.
He also stressed that there should be periodic monitoring after release of loans to the beneficiaries so as to ensure that the sanctioned amount is utilized for the same purpose and by intended beneficiary him/herself only, and if any violations are observed then immediate action be taken to recover the entire sanctioned amount.
He also directed the officials to see that the entire process of sanction of loan shall be competed with in one month. It was also decided that the old pending loan applications will be closed and action will be taken on new applications only.
Reviewing the MSDP scheme the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister directed to prepare a detailed report and submit the same, so that this can be reviewed with the Collectors to whom the funds were released. Earmarking of some percentage of funds for empowerment also came up for discussion on which Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister directed to make a detailed study and submit feasibility report.
As for the computer training centres the officials stated that there are about 43 computer training centres are working in the state and the working of these centres are not satisfactory. Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister directed to reduce the centres to 31 i.e., one per district and directed to develop the centres.
Chairman Minority Finance Corporation, mentioned that recently sanction has been accorded for establishment of (7) computer centres and within a few days computer training centre at Santoshnagar will become operative.
Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to see that the Sewing machines being provided by the corporation carries a logo of Government and the machines shall be allotted strictly as per eligibly by collecting all basic documents of the beneficiary.
With regard to sanctioning of staff to the Minorities Finance Corporation, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister directed to submit proposals and after discussing the matter with the Hon’ble Chief Minister further necessary action will be taken.
Finally, the Hon’ble Dy. CM instructed the officials to strive hard for implementation of minorities’ schemes and see that the schemes are reach the beneficiaries to whom the schemes are intended.
