New Delhi: In the open disobedience of the Supreme Court’s ban on firecrackers, a fringe Hindu outfit burst crackers outside the premises of the Supreme Court on Tuesday evening in Delhi.
The Police have detained fourteen, including three women and they were taken to Tilak Marg police station. The members who claimed to be members of an organization called Azad Hind Fauj, were led by a person named Satpal Malhotra, Police said.
The group has taken shelter in the fact that the court had banned the sale of firecrackers and did not tear them. However, they ignored the intention behind the ban – to control Delhi’s deteriorating air pollution.
The Delhi’s BJP spokesman Tajinder Bagga had distributed a complete cracker of boxes for slum settlements in West Delhi’s Hari Nagar area. Bagga tweeted the photo and a video of him with crackers for the children, but claimed that the distribution was not just for court contempt.
