Visakhapatnam: The Inhuman act occurred in broad daylight, very close to the Railway Station On Sunday; a 28-year-old woman was raped by a person on the sidewalk of Visakhapatnam, which was reportedly intoxicated. The Passers did not come to the woman’s assistance, but an auto rickshaw driver recorded a crime on his mobile phone.
The accused was identified as 20 year old Ganji Shiva, as a truck driver. The police had arrested him on Sunday when the auto rickshaw driver gave them a video of the heinous incident. The Incident occurred around 1PM, between Railway New Colony and the railway station. The woman was sitting under a tree, when Accused Shiva had sexually assaulted her. The victim has been admitted to King George Hospital, the police said.
The Accused Shiva threatens gestures on passersby, which has discouraged them from helping women, police said.
The woman had left her house in Vepagunta near Pendurthi on the outskirts of Vizag after having a quarrel with her husband and reached Vizag on the bus on Sunday, when she took shelter under a tree on the sidewalk, when accused Shiva sexually assaulted her. The accused Shiva is an alcoholic and addicted to drugs, Police said.
That, many people passing through, the video show but no one has been able to help the woman, Victim’s husband is a laborer and she fought on Sunday morning, after which she left home and took shelter on the pavement. The victim has been admitted to King George Hospital, Police said
