The Jammu and Kashmir Police have closed the case against its Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yasir Qadri, who had accused the murder of a 26-year-old on account of ongoing protests in Kashmir in connection with the murder of Burah Wani, Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. Additional attorney general Tushar Mehta on Monday submitted the closed report in a sealed cover to the Supreme Court. The bench headed by Justice N.V. Ramana informed that after the victim’s parents and sister turned hostile, it was decided to file a closure report.
The Mehta said that the family gets statements lodged in front of a magistrate and admitted that their son Shabir Ahmad Mir was in a crowd of stone pelters against the security forces, who were shooting the pellets on the protesters.
That, Mir was injured due to the pellets and later died due to his injuries. The apex court established his post-mortem after ordering his body to be investigated, it was established that Mir was died due to pellet injury not due to a bullet shot, as alleged earlier. The Law officer said in view of new statements, there is no further investigation to investigate against Qadri
