Hyderabad: The Cross-Country, Women’s Motorcycle Rider Sana Iqbal, who launched a solo campaign to spread awareness about suicides and depression, died on Tuesday morning in a car accident in Hyderabad, Telangana.
A police official said that her husband was injured in the crashed, which occurred on the city outskirts about 3.30 AM.
The Biker Sana 29-year-old and her husband Abdul Nadeem were traveling in a car to home in Tolichowki, Hyderabad, when the car rammed the median on the outer ring road, Narsing Police Inspector GV Ramana Goud said. The Sana’s husband Abdul Nadeem was driving a car, Sana, who had severe injuries in the accident, was taken to a nearby hospital, but it was declared brought dead, her husband who received injuries was undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The Hyderabad-based rider had struck headlines a few years ago when he had launched a solo motorcycle campaign to raise awareness about suicide. The focus of his campaign was to educate the people, especially the students committing suicide.
The Narsing Police registered a case under section 304A IPC (causing death by negligence) and other relevant sections, police said.
