New Delhi: The Pankaj Mehra was returning home in the heart of the capital after outing with his wife and son in the morning. After visiting one of the largest gurdwaras in Delhi, on Tuesday night they had food near the famous Jama Masjid. Then, Pankaj Mehra shot his wife twice in the head, while their 2 year old was in her lap.
The police claim that Pankaj Mehra, a businessman who was deep in debt, has today confessed to this version of the incident during questioning. He was alleged, secretly married to another woman, whom he wanted to be together.
The senior police officer Milind Dumbere said, despite marrying Priya, Pankaj was married to another woman; she was inclined towards her second wife and had the idea of eliminating Priya.
First of all, Pankaj Mehra claimed that his wife was shot on the order of a money-lender to whom he owed Rs. 40 Lakh for an unsuccessful restaurant business. But it was a CCTV from a petrol pump that used to reveal its lie.
The Pankaj Mehra said that at about 4:15, his wife shot by four people in another car. Mr. Mehra said that the attackers left behind their car, blocked it and smashed the window using a gun. He claimed that he tried to fight the attackers, but they opened fire, missed him and two bullets hit his wife instead, he took his wife to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
However, CCTV footage did not show any car at the place where the shoot was taken, the police said that the gun used to kill Ms. Mehra has not yet been found.
