The Hindu organisation leader was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Punjab city on Monday.
The deceased Vipin Sharma is the district president of Hindu Sangharsh Sena in Amritsar, he was shot in the Bharat Nagar area near the Batala Road and died on the spot. At least four assailants were reportedly involved in the attack. More details were awaited. The Senior police officers rushed to the spot following the incident.
That the killing of the Hindu leader has come within days of the killing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ravinder Gosai in Ludhiana on 17th October. The Gosain was shot at twice from close range. He died on the spot. The Punjab government handed over the case pertaining to the killing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ravindra Gosain in Ludhiana to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
