Hyderabad: The South Zone Police rescued a four-month-old child from a racket of human trafficking and arrested three people including the child’s father.
The arrested persons were identified as Vakapalli Gangadhar Reddy 32-year-old, Shaik Khatoon 41-year-old and Shaik Yousuf 27-year-old father of the girl. Two others, Sirisha and Ratna Kumari are still absconding.
The Shaikh Yusuf’s wife Sabila Begum had lodged a complaint that Shaik Khatoon had taken her out of the maternity hospital in Petlaburu and requested to give her a baby to be adopted. When she refused, her husband threatened to divorce him, the police said.

The accused contacted poor parents who had come to government hospitals and provided them money. On the basis of the complaint, special teams were established and the accused were arrested.
