Hyderabad: The Hon’ble Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted formulation of special programmes for minority self employment without having any linkage to the banks. The Chief Minister wanted Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari to visit Maharashtra to study measures taken for the protection of Urdu language and asked another Deputy CM Mohamood Ali to visit Rajasthan to make arrangments for the construction of Rubaat in Ajmer.
A review meeting took place in Pragati Bhavan here on Monday on the decision taken by the government in minorities welfare and several assurances made in the Legislature recently. Dy. Chief Minister Mohamood Ali, MLAs Akbaruddin Owaisi, Shakeel, Government’s Advisor AK Khan, Principal Secretary (Municipal) Navin Mittal, Wakf Board Chairman Mohd Saleem, Principal Secretary Minorities Omer Jaleel, the SPDCL, CMD Raghuma Reddy, Minority Development Commission Mohd Shafiullah, CMO Secretary Ms Smita Sabharwal, Hyderabad Collector Ms Yogita Rana Special secretary Bhoopal Reddy, and others participated.
The Chief Minister said like the SC/STs, minorities should also be given welfare programmes and for this the minority welfare officials should have meeting with the SC/ST welfare officials and chalk out an action plan. Since it was decided to appoint 66 Urdu Officers the entire recruitment process should be done in 40 days. He said that clear instructions are given to the officials to introduce Urdu in all the government and public sector undertakings entrance exams. He said overseas education scholarship should be implemented properly and for the students not to get cheated by the fake institutions abroad a list of accredited institutions should be obtained and accordingly given the assistance. The CM said Singareni officials are asked to give holiday, on Christmas and Ramzan to those communities. The Telangana Chief Minister said that all the Collectors are given clear-cut instructions to protect the Wakf lands and send lists of the Wakf properties, which will be protected by the government. The Chief Minister also wanted a recommendation to strengthen the Minority development Corporation, Urdu Academy and the Wakf Board.
