Bengaluru: A 23-year-old woman, fashion designer was allegedly harassed by Ola’s cab driver on Sunday night, who had tried to keep her hostage in the cab by activating the child lock. The incident took place in a deserted place on the ring road at around 10.30 pm south East Bengaluru.
The driver, Rajshekhar Reddy, molesting with her, till she started pulling the windows back and beat windows till then he was compelled to unlock the car. The driver then started calling the woman on her number, after which she blocked his number.
There was no one on the road, I was coming out of the window, when suddenly he stopped and started touching my feet, I warned him and tried to harm the car, he let me go. I blocked the number, Women said.
After this incident, Ola’s spokesman said, “We regret the unfortunate experience during the customer’s ride. We have zero tolerance for such incidents and the driver has been suspended from the stage as soon as we receive the complaint”. The spokesperson also appealed to the customer to file a formal complaint with the authorities. Ola’s spokesperson said, “Security of customers is our priority and we will continue our full support for this investigation against this driver.”
The victim contacted the police only after assuring to take action against the accused driver of Ola. However, she did not file a formal complaint with the police. The woman also accused the company not to take any action against the driver.
“I had informed the incident on Sunday itself, but even on Monday when the police asked, they did not take any action, they still did not tell me what action has been taken, they were given 4.9 on the app “Said the woman. What is the company doing to safeguard the women using the service? “She asked
