Hyderabad: The Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Forest Department is going to conduct “Bird Watching Festival” on 9th Dec 2017, and “10km Forest Run” on 10th Dec 2017 according to the schedule planned under Eco-Tourism Activities at Jayashankar District.
That, the On 9th December, the Telangana has splendid wildlife reserves, one of such is the Eturnagaram wildlife sanctuary, which is 100 km from Warangal. It is one of the oldest sanctuaries of Telangana. As the area is famous for birding earlier so many visitors and enthusiasts came to the sanctuary only for Birding like people from Singapore University, Bengal, Bihar, Delhi and organizations like Hyderabad Birding pals, Andhra Pradesh Bird Watching Society were also visited the Sanctuary. And the Sanctuary is of 806 sq.km, in this Sanctuary we can see birds like.
Woodpeckers, Barbets, Hornbills, Common hoopoe, trogon, rollers, Kingfishers, Bee-eaters, Cuckoos, Coucals, parrots, parakeets, Swifts, Owls, Pigeons, doves, Bustards, cranes, Crakes, snipes, stints, Jacanas, Lapwings, gulls, kites, Vultures, Eagles, Falcons, cormorants, Egrets, Herons, Flamingos, spoonbill, Storks, Pitta, shrikes, Treepies, crows, orioles, Cuckooshrikes, minivets, Drongos, Fantails, woodshrikes, Thrushes, Flycatchers, Starlings, mynas, Nuthatches, Tits, Swallows, Bulbuls, prinias, Warblers, Grassbirds, Laughingthrushes, Babblers, Flowerpeckers, Sunbirds, Wagtails, Pipits, Sparrows, Weavers and Munias etc, so this bird watching festival is going to start from 6.30am in the morning and and we are going to take the enthusiasts to different birding sites like Jinnela Cheruvu, Gangaram, Black Berry Island etc and they were going to have a seminar on Bird watching at Tadvai Forest Huts Museum on Bird watching at 11am and those who want to participate in Bird watching should pay Rs. 100/-
The 10th December 2017 the 10Km Forest Run (Marathon), those who want to participate in the Marathon should come to Pasra Forest Complex by 9.am and this is for free of cost anyone can participate and for every Participant Department is going to give Participation Certificate and for winners We are going to give Achievement Certificates and Medals.
