Chennai: The Opposition DMK in Tamil Nadu has alleged that the AIADMK had given Rs. 100 crore to the voters Prior to the by-elections in Chennai’s RK Nagar, by the ruling AIADMK. Which was represented by former Chief Minister Jayalalitha in the state assembly, DMK leader Mr. Stalin has accused AIADMK of paying the rupee 6,000 for every voter, and the operation, he insisted, the police had support.
That, Mr. Stalin had written to the Election Commission and said that action against AIADMK candidate E-Madhusudan should be taken. “Take appropriate and necessary action against AIADMK and poor officials and ensure free and fair elections to RK Nagar assembly constituency”.
After Jayalalitha’s death in December last year elections were required in the constituency. Her party, the ruling AIADMK, is set to control the seat. But after the election, after it was dragged into the dispute Rs. 13 Lakh cash were seized from a physiotherapist center yesterday. Officials say that during this election, it was the biggest cash haul.
In April, the Election Commission had canceled the by-elections in RK Nagar, after the videos showing that the cash being paid to the voters had emerged. The State Health Minister C Vijaybaskar, the Documents seized by Income Tax officials soon from Vijaybaskar’s house suggested that the Chief minister v and his ministers have given 89 crore rupees to the voters. The BJP, which is yet to win the seat in the state, is still in the fray.
