Hyderabad: The Energy Conservation Mission, The Institution of Engineers (India), Telangana State Centre in association with Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) organized (on the occasion National Energy Conservation Week Celebrations -2017; 14th to 20th December, 2017) Lecture on “Energy Efficiency though Standards and Labeling” delivered by Er J N Karamchetti, FIE, Senior Faculty, Engineering Staff College of India and Core Committee Member, ECM on 18th December, 2017. Karamchetti stated that the objectives of Standards and Labeling program is to provide the consumer an informed choice about the energy saving and thereby the cost saving potential of the marketed household appliances and other equipment. He also said that this is expected to impact the energy savings in the medium and long run while at the same time it will position domestic industry to contend in such markets, where norms for energy efficiency are mandatory.
