Hyderabad: The Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) of Ministry of Petroleum, Government of India, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) jointly organized a one day seminar to create Awareness on “Petroleum Conservation in Agriculture Sector”, today at the Extension Education Institute, Rajendranagar. Dr.V.Praveen Rao, Vice-chancellor, PJTSAU was the Chief Guest and spoke after inaugurating the seminar. As part of the energy conservation programmes in Agricultural sector. Practice of Zero tillage in agriculture has to be emphasized said by VC. And also he suggested that, encourage the farmers to take up Micro Irrigation in a large scale for efficient energy conservation. Farm mechanization, Irrigation and tillage practices have greater role in energy conservation in agricultural activities, according to him.
The Petroleum conservation Research Association officials S.P.Selvam, B.Rajesh Naik, Naresh Khurana had delivered the lectures and gave tips on how to save energy in the agriculture sector by adopting various methods.
The Dr. Y.G. Prasad, Director, ATARI, ICAR, Dr. D.Raji Reddy, Director of Extension, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), were also spoken on this occasion. The Programme Coordinators of District Agriculture Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centers (DAATTC’s), Krishi Vignana Kendras (KVKs) were attended the one day seminar.
