Chennai: The AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran, who was winning strongly in RK Nagar by-election, was sworn in as a member of the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Friday. He successfully achieved former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha as a legislator of the city division.
The newly elected legislator was sworn in as the member of the 15th Legislative Assembly by the Speaker P Dhanapal in his office.
On this occasion, supporters of Dhinakaran, including some unqualified MLAs and key partners like Thangatamilselvan and P Vetrivel, were present. Dhanpal later joined hands with Dhinakaran.
That, Due to Jayalalitha’s death, the by-election was held on December 21, which was the sitting legislator. The Dhinakaran defeated his nearest AIADMK rival E. Madhusudhanan with 40,000 votes.
A few months ago, on the edge of the ruling camp, Dhinakaran contested as an independent candidate from the constituency.
