Muzaffarnagar: A woman was allegedly kidnapped along with members of her family and gang raped by another woman’s relatives, The women who eloped with her son in Uttar Pradesh, Police said.
The incident occurred in the Nojal village of Shamli district and a case of gang-rape was registered on Friday, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma said. According to the SP, a 26-year-old man fell in love with a 24-year-old woman, who was hailed from the village in Muzaffarnagar and was studying in Ghaziabad.
The man was a resident of the Bhopur village in Ghaziabad and he eloped with her on 20th November, as a revenge, members of girl family kidnapped the Man’s brother, mother who is in his 40s, a father and his brother-in-law on 19th December and was kept in a house in Shamli district. The accused threatened and attacked them, who also gang rape the man’s mother. On 25th December, while working on the tip-off, the police raided the house and rescued them, the officer said.
A case of kidnapping was registered on the same day and after the investigation, police had registered a case of gang-rape on Friday, the SP said.
They said, the girl’s father, her two brothers, including the former village chief, and her son were booked by the police, The official said that the former village head was arrested while other accused are absconding.
