Mumbai: A 32-year-old man from West Bengal’s Midnapur was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stalking the Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar. It is learned that accused person made 20 phone calls at Tendulkar’s residence, made a bad comment about Sara and threatened to kidnap her.
The Sara had lodged a complaint against the person identified as Debkumar Maity in Bandra Police Station. After Sara’s complaint, the police came into action and arrested that person. His family is reported, claiming that he is mentally unstable.
Although it is still investigating how Maity get the number of Tendulkar, the police managed to locate the nearby telephone towers of the accused; From which he used to call.
In the meantime, the accused said that he first saw Sara on the TV and fell in love with her.
That, I saw her on TV sitting in the pavilion during a match and fell in love. I want to marry her. I have obtain the landline number of Tendulkar and I have call 20 times and never seen her in person, Debkumar Maity told the police.
