Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government has banned the use of loudspeakers in religious and public places in Uttar Pradesh. It was directed the police to remove installed loudspeakers at religious places by January 20.
The Move comes after the Allahabad High Court had ordered the removal of loudspeakers from religious places to prevent noise pollution. In December 2017, the court had sought answers from the state government and the UP Pollution Control Board, on the alleged misuse of loudspeakers in religious places.
The Court order comes on the PIL filed by A local lawyer M.L Yadav, who had alleged that noise pollution control and control rules are not being followed in Temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras and Churches. The petitioner said that students, patients and senior citizens gave rise to the shortcomings of noise pollution. The Loudspeakers use cannot be allowed from 10 p.m. From 6 A.M. But the rule was often violated. The petitioner asked for an instruction to strictly comply with the rule so that people can sleep peacefully.
