New Delhi: The Supreme Court said that it is not compulsory for the cinema hall to play the National Anthem before screening a film, Recalling its November 30, 2016 order, which had played the national anthem before filming every movie in the cinema hall across the country, the bench of three judges, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, said that the playing National Anthem is now optional at the discretion of cinemas.
