Hyderabad: There is a plan to complete the construction of an auditorium in Jamia Nizamia by January-end; there is no possibility of completing the deadline. The project is estimated to cost Rs 14.65 crore, which is funded by Telangana State Waqf Board and it is executed by roads and building department. the Work on the project started three years ago but due to lack of funds, it was slow on many occasions, even after the intervention of public representatives, the work started in October last year.
Telangana State Waqf Board and Jamia Nizamia Seminary Management had planned to inaugurate the auditorium in February with the annual ‘Urs’ of Jamia’s founder Hazrath Sheikh-ul-Islam Hafiz Mohammed Anwar-ullah Farooqui Fazeelath Jung.
A few weeks are left for the Urs Festival, while many things like construction of height, flooring, electrification and plumbing are still to be done. Apart from this, some other things are also incomplete, “We wanted to finish the work before the Urs Festival and handed the auditorium to Jamia Nizamia.
The Charminar MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri, TS Wakf Board chairman inspected the premises along with the officials of the R&B department.
