Chennai: The actor Kamal Hassan will announce the name of his political party on 21 February in Ramanathapuram, Tamilnadu and start state-wide journey on that day.
The tour will be held in phases. He will start traveling from Ramnathapuram , visit his hometown and later visit people of Madurai, Dindigul and Shivgangi districts.
It will mark official entry in Hassan’s politics, about which he was making changes since last year.
The Hassan said in a statement on Tuesday, “At the beginning of the journey, I intend to announce the name of my political party, through which we intend to live.”
The veteran actor said that he intends to challenge the status quo, which “is temporarily doing Tamil Nadu politics for some time”.
Hassan said, “However, to do this, my thoughts and actions need to be echoed with the mass collectively,”
He said, adding that he wanted to familiarize himself with the concerns of people through statewide tour. That, really understand what my people need?, what is their sufferings, do they have ambitions,” he said. Hassan said that the tour was “neither the act of revolt nor a meeting for glamour”
