Hyderabad: A Meeting was convened with the Insurance Companies under the Chairmanship of the APC & Secretary to the Govt., attended by the Commissioner of Agriculture on 23-01-2018.
• Inview of the delay in settlement of the claims, 29th January was fixed as dead line for transferring the balance Insurance claim amount to the farmers for Kharif and Rabi 2016-17.
• Cheques to a tune of Rs. 40.00 lakhs are returned for want of Correct Account Nos., IFSC code and farmer’s details in respect of Non loanee farmers. The Insurance companies were requested to contact the farmers and see that the amounts are transferred at the earliest.
• To avoid the application of Area Correction Factor the farmers should insure the actual crop sown in the field. Farmers are taking loans to the crops which are not sown in the fields and availing the loans for the crops which are having highest scale of finance. It is creating problems in settlement of claims. Farmers are advised to avail the crop loans to the crops actually sown in the field.
• Inview of the reorganisation of the district the bankers (SBI) are advised to complete the mapping of the Bank masters data.
• The Bankers are advised to upload the insured farmer’s details in the GOI Portal by 31st January 2018 as it is the cut-off date.
• To ensure and counter check the transfer of claim amount to the farmers the Insurance Companies were instructed to submit the UCs furnished by the Banks with regard to the transfer of claim amount.
• The APC & Secretary advised the Insurance Companies and Bankers to attend the weekly Video Conference held by the GOI without fail.
