Hyderabad: The legislature committee on Backward Classes welfare of Government of Telangana has visited the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) here on Wednesday. The committee led by under the chairmanship of the V.Gangadhar, MLC and the committee members T. Prakash Goud, MLA Rajendranagar, R. Krishnaiah, MLA, LB Nagar, C. Vittal Reddy, MLA, and Mudhol were interacted with the Vice Chancellor Dr.V. Praveen Rao and other officers of the PJTSAU in a meeting organized at Robing Hall in University Auditorium. The committee was reviewed on the implementation of B.C reservations in Teaching and Non Teaching staff Recruitment and as well as admissions of Graduate, Undergraduate and Agricultural Diploma courses offered by the university. Committee was felt happy and satisfied the way university administration is giving priority for BC’s in recruitment and admissions. After concluding of meeting Mr. Gangadhar Goud, Chairman of the committee along with other members had briefed to media on the review held with the PJTSAU officers. The committee was hailed the performance of the university and appreciated the Vice Chancellor Dr. V Praveen Rao for putting extraordinary efforts to stand PJTSAU 12th Rank in the Country and 3rd Rank in South India in short span of three years. University is also giving priority for BC’s in Teaching and Non Teaching staff Recruitment, as well as in admissions for Undergraduate and Diploma courses in the university said the chairman. As per the information available to committee, in teaching posts 36.5 percent and in Non Teaching posts 43.4 percent are filled with BC’s he said. Similarly in Undergraduate courses 44.35 percent, Agricultural Diploma courses 62 percent seats are filled with backward classes’ students said the chairman. That, the committee has made numerous suggestions to the VC including to start the separate cell for the BC’s to look after the welfare of the BC employees and students in the university.
