New Delhi: The Mega Health Care Insurance scheme for the poor by Narendra Modi is a “Jumla” Says Congress on Saturday and said that it was made without adequate funds. In-charge of the Congress Communications Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the proposed National Health Protection Scheme is another program of the Modi Government and previous health insurance schemes have not yielded satisfactorily results. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley have made health services to the poor only a ‘jumla’, “Surjewala said.
The Surjewala said that two health service schemes have been brought by the Modi government and the proposed National Health Protection Scheme is now being referred to as NaMocare by BJP leaders. Now in 2018, he has brought a new scheme in his name. Modiji has allocated any money for the 2018 health scheme? The truth is that the government is fooling the people of the country, Surjewala said.
The objective of the proposed Health Protection Scheme is to provide coverage up to Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospital, which will cover more than 10 crore poor and weaker families, the world’s largest government-funded healthcare program.
Surjewala said that collections through one per cent additional health and education cess will be grossly inadequate to meet the expenditure under the health protection scheme. To buy a health insurance scheme of Rs. 5 lakhs, the minimum premium is Rs. 5,000. If there is a premium amount of Rs 5,000, then 1.5 lakh crores of rupees are needed as a premium, which the government needs to give to the insurers. Where is that amount? That money has not yet been allocated. He said that if half of the 100 million families claim to be half, then 2.5 lakh rupees are claimed and Rs. 12.5 lakh crore will be required.
Surjewala said that the official statement about financing of this scheme is contradictory, the date of commencement of its probability and the amount included in it. The people of the country have started to describe the central budget 2018-19 in three words -” – “Modinomics plus Jaitleynomics is equivalent to jumlanomics, “he said. The Rahul Gandhi has rightly said that it is true that the NDA government has been left alone for only one year and that is why it is being said that (“’Acche-din-to-aane-wale-hain, kyuki-Modiji-to-jane-wale-hain’”) (Good days would be arriving shortly as Modi would be departing) he said.
