Hyderabad: The all organizations of all Muslims of Hyderabad have been set up for the three-day 26th plenary session of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), a representative body of Muslims on Friday.
The conference will start from the session of an executive committee at the Salar-e-Millat Auditorium in Owaisi Hospital premises on Friday evening. It is here that the issue of Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill 2017, Triple Talaq will be raised for discussion. It’s on top of the agenda.
While Addressing the media in the city on Thursday, AIMPLB spokesman Maulana Syed Khaleel-ur-Rehman Sajjad Nomani said that this bill is full of serious blemishes and flaws and if they were removed then the board is ready to accept this bill. The board is not against the bill, but there are defects that violate the constitution and fundamental rights. His strongest objection to the bill was that he secretly not only tries to ban Instant Triple Talaq but also cleverly bans the institution of Talaq. “The Attorney General (AG) said during the hearing of the matter of the Supreme Court that once the bill is approved, the government will take steps to ban all forms of Talaq. This statement has been made by the Supreme Court judges and when he asked if he would have an option in front of a Muslim husband, if he wants to give Talaq. For this, the AG replied that the government later will have an act. “
The Maulana Nomani said that it is a shame that there is a demand for such dangerous laws in the country that violates the Constitution, the fundamental rights of the citizens and women’s rights and the Children’s Rights Act, That “No other country in the world has such a law, I should be ashamed of not only as a Muslim, but as an Indian citizen, he said, this bill also states that in the dispute, The manner in which the Supreme Court has upheld. When asked about the possibility of AIMPLB talking to the government or the Prime Minister, Maulana Nomani said that after the matter came to light, the board held an emergency meeting and wrote to Prime Minister to discuss the issue. But his autocratic attitude that the PMO did not respond to the letter.
He said that making a cognizable offence to accelerated Triple Talaq is a dangerous step, because it is open to misuse and anyone can file a police complaint against anyone who has given three divorces. “Even if the wife denies, the police can arrest him,” he said.
He urged all political parties to go with their own conscience and come out against the bill. He thanked those parties, including the NDA ally, who understood this issue after meeting with AIMPLB members and opposed the bill.
The plenary Will be held in three meetings on Saturday and Sunday, in which more than 500 Plus delegates will participate. It will include representatives of scholars, intellectuals and Muslim organizations.
In response to the questions, the spokesman said that some members were asked to modify the model Nikanama or marriage contract and add another column to take a commitment from the groom that he would not give instant Triple Talaq.
The Executive Committee of the Board and the General Body will also discuss the title issue of Babri Masjid, which is pending in the Supreme Court and the Babri Masjid demolition case in Lucknow court, and the decision of the next phase of action will be decided based on the reports of the lawyers panel. On another question about the threats of some Hindu organizations to take the temple construction work at the disputed site, Maulana Nomani said, “This is a clear contempt of court. The court and the government should take action against such elements; He also said that there is no proposal in the court regarding the Babri Masjid land.

The Maulana Nomani said that AIMPLB will also discuss the progress of the codification of Islamic law in English and will discuss work on interpretation of logic and reasoning behind Sharia law. “After this, it will eliminate misunderstanding about Islam among other communities and all the fair people will prefer Islamic family law.”
Another issue on the agenda will be ban on performing Namaz (prayers) in the mosques under the control of Archaeological Survey of India. “It is unfortunate that when Namaz (Prayers) is prohibited, all sorts of crimes are being committed in the mosques including drinking and gambling”.
