Kerala: In a Bizarre incident of Rape, A 43-year-old Divorced Bangladesh-born-British-citizen with a 22-year-old son filed a rape and theft case against the Kerala priest.
After the complaint, the Kaduthuruthy police booked accused Fr Thomas Thanninilkumthasathil, the vicar of a St. Matthews Church, Perumathuruthu, who had disappeared after realizing the gravity of the issue.
The complaint said that she became a friend on Facebook and invited him to visit Kerala. She came to Kaduthuruthy with her British friend Kennedy Meindi on December 31 and stayed there for a week. Where accused priest repeatedly raped her.
The victim left for London on 17th January and she came back on February 8 and filed a Police complaint on Wednesday.
The Police said that the priest allegedly raped her during victim’s first visit and the police are verifying the facts and details.
That, as per the complainant, the priest had also stolen diamond ring, mobile phone, gold ornaments, 1,300 British pounds and some other things.
The Accused Fr Thomas was dismissed from all his priestly duties. The diocese will fully cooperate with the police probe, said in a press release.
