Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Kanchanbagh Police uncover Ganja Smuggling Racket and arrested eleven persons involved and seized about 175 kg of Ganja, Skoda car, Renault Logan car total worth of Rs. 25 lakhs from accused Possession on Saturday. The accused persons are Guguloth Veerabhadram, Nallabothula Naresh Kumar, Thota Trinadh, SK Nazeer Basha, Neelkamal Biswas and six others. The prime accused in this case Guguloth Veerabhadram is a native of Dharmaram village of Mahaboobabad Dist. He migrated to Hyderabad in the year 2006. As he could not meet out the expenditure for his lavish lifestyle, he thought of other ways to increase his income. During that period he came in contact with Kanthaiah of his village who suggested him of doing Ganja business to sort out financial problems.
That, in the year 2012, he along with Kanthaiah was first arrested by Osmania University Police for transporting Ganja from Sileru to Hyderabad. While in Jail, he developed contacts with other people who are into Ganja business. After coming out on bail, he started business with his new contacts. That the accused person arrested by Mothugudem Police in two cases for transporting Ganja from Sileru to Hyderabad. He was released on bail in the month of January, 2018. During this period he was lodged at Rajahmundry Central Prison. At that time there were about 500 prisoners who were into Ganja smuggling. He exchanged his phone number with them. The accused person after coming out on the bail, the accused started contacting Ganja suppliers. In the first week of February, one Naresh of Sattenapalli supplied him 40 kg Ganja. The accused person transported the same in his vehicle Skoda Octavia car to Salabatpur near Shirdi during midnight and sold to one Kate-Mama. In the meantime he contacted Nilkamal Biswas of Malkangiri for Ganja.
The accused Nilkamal Biswas is a native of Malkangiri. His brother Neelkanth was arrested by Kunavaram Police of East Godavari for transporting Ganja and is presently lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail. Nilkamal along with his brother is into this business for the past couple of years. Veerabhadram after releasing from jail contacted Nilkamal by taking the reference of his brother. That, upon the order placed by Veerabhadram, Nilkamal hired six persons from his surrounding villages and brought about 70 kg of Ganja to Hyderabad in RTC bus. Each of the seven persons, including Nilkamal carried about 10 kg of neatly packed Ganja in backpacks and arrived at Hyderabad.
The accused Naresh is an auto driver by profession was earlier arrested in 2017 by Maredumilli Police of East Godavari while he was transporting Ganja and lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail. After his release in December 2017, the accused again started Ganja business in association with his friend Trinadh. The accused Naresh and Trinadh upon the order of the Veerabhadram procured about 100 kg of Ganja from Gurtedu and transported the same to Hyderabad in Renault Logan car and reached Hyderabad. The above accused persons have ganged up into a team and doing this business as it is highly lucrative and yielding huge profits within short period. The Veerabhadram with his contacts is supplying Ganja in Hyderabad and Maharashtra. In recent times we have seen several youth/students who are addicted to drugs engaged in crime and other anti-social activities. Several families have become victims of this menace. It is an ardent request from Hyderabad City Police to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information to Police to curtail such anti-social activities and strive for Drug free city.
The arrested accused persons along with seized property have been handed over to the Kanchanbagh Police Station for taking further necessary legal action, Police said.
