Hyderabad: Another global major would be setting up their operations in Telangana soon. Multinational Software Company Adobe Systems would be setting up their Artificial Intelligence Center in Hyderabad soon.
The decision was informed to Minister KT Rama Rao by Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, during a meeting on the sidelines of World Congress on Information Technology.
Adobe Systems is a leading software company based in San Jose, USA, with about 17000 employees working across the globe. The company had revenues to the tune of $7.3 Billion in 2017. Adobe is a household name worldwide due to its immensely popular products like Photoshop, PageMaker, Acrobat Reader, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
Minister KTR had first met Shantanu Narayen in May 2015 in the US. Since then, consistent efforts by the Minister and state government have finally yielded results.
During today’s meeting, Shantanu Narayen complimented the state government for the tremendous development that has happened in the past three and half years. Shantanu said that availability of skilled manpower makes Hyderabad an attractive destination for IT companies.

A detailed note would be released soon by the company with details about the proposed Artificial Intelligence Center at Hyderabad.
Technology Demonstration Network of T-Fiber launched at WCIT
The Technology Demonstration Network (TDN) of T-Fiber was formally launched at the inaugural event of World Congress on Information Technology by hon’ble Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad and State IT Minister KT Rama Rao.
Union Minister interacted with students of Government School in Maheshwaram village over the TDN. A three way communication between the school students in Maheshwaram, a teacher in Hyderabad and the Union Minister at HICC was showcased today.
Later a telemedicine service between a doctor in Hyderabad and a patient at Mansanpally Primary Health Care center was also demonstrated to the Union Minister.
Lastly a modern E-Kiosk set up at Tummaluru village, which provides a range of Government to Citizen Services, video-conferencing facility and a host of Agriculture services was also demonstrated to Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad and other dignitaries by MD of T-Fiber Sujai Karampuri.
TDN is a pilot network which intends to showcase the Government to Government, Government to Citizens services and the range of applications in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, entertainment that could be delivered over T-Fiber Network.
Speaking after the launch of TDN, Minister KTR said that the idea behind launching this pilot was to showcase the possibilities that a high speed Fiber Optic cable will open up for both Government and Private Sector. Minister opined that T-Fiber will usher in revolutionary transformation particularly in Agriculture, Education, Healthcare and also E-Commerce sectors.
TDN is established in four villages under the Maheshwaram Mandal. Few houses, a school, a Primary Health Centre and Grampanchayat offices in Mansanpally, Thummaloor, Sirigipuram and Maheshwaram Village are connected to Secretariat, the Raj Bhavan, CM’s Camp Office and State Data Center.
A total of 215 Kms of Optic Fiber Cable has been laid with the participating industry players – BBNL, Sterlite, L&T and HFCL. CISCO, Nokia and Tejas Networks have provided best in class technology for the network. Currently, the network is capable of at least 1 Gig capacity with the provision to upgrade the same to as much as 400 Gig.
Agriculture applications for farmers, Digital Education solutions for students and Telemedicine for citizens are some of the applications that would be showcased as part of TDN.
Services such as TeleMedicine, eEducation, Video Conference, Government to Citizen Services such as MeeSeva, IPTV, and IP-Phone services are already commissioned. More applications would be added in the due course of time. The current services partners under the TDN include Cisco, Sterlite, HPE, MeeSeva, TSAT, Corpus, D-Link, Quadgen, E-Abhyas, Micromax, Kisan Raja, and Celkon.
TDN will be available for about a year to welcome the Industry/Government players to develop services and technologies which will benefit the people of Telangana.
IT Minister KTR Participates in Ministers’ Round Table at WCIT 2018
Telangana IT Minister KTR said that the state’s Digital push rests on five important pillars – Connectivity, Digital Literacy, Skilling, Innovation and Intellectual Property. The Minister was speaking at the Round Table “Rethinking Governance in a Digital Economy” held on the sidelines of WCIT 2018 being held at Hyderabad.
Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad Chaired the session in which IT Ministers from Armenia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and State Secretary from Sweden participated.
The session was moderated by BVR Mohan Reddy, former Chairman of NASSCOM.
Minister KTR outlined the various important IT initiatives that the state government has undertaken in the last three and half years. He spoke about the startups working at T-Hub in the fintech, cleantech and agritech sectors. Minister informed the participants about TWorks – India’s largest prototyping lab that is going to be set up in Telangana soon.
Offering the closing remarks to the session, Minister KTR proposed that the Union Government could set up a Cooperative Digital Platform to bridge the gap between the Digital haves and havenots.
Minister also met the Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Mr. Navdeep Bains on the sidelines of WCIT 2018.
Minister KTR met Mr. Tony Prophet, Chief Equality Officer of Salesforce at HICC today. Among the various areas of collaboration was a partnership with WE-Hub, to be launched by Telangana Government on March 8th 2018.
