Hyderabad: The Secretary to Government, Minorities Welfare Department, M.Dana Kishore, visited the Telangana State Waqf Board on Tuesday to inspect the overall functioning of the Board. During his visit Mr. M.A.Mannan Farooqui, Chief Executive Officer, Waqf Board, Prof. Mahajbeen, Director Dairatul Marif, and Smt. Gayana Prusunamba, Dy. Director, Minorities Welfare accompanied him. He has inspected the Record Section which is now under the control of District Collector, Hyderabad. During his inspection he has observed that the waqf record is kept in hip hazard manner. That Most of the records which are kept in bundles and tied in cloth year wise contain general administrative record beside property records. Most of the records are either in Urdu or Persian language. Therefore, he directed the Chief Executive Officer and other officials of the Board to segregate the record which pertains to landed and commercial properties. He has also decided to get the properties record translated into English from Urdu and Persian language and to scanned and digitalize the same so that the same be preserved and made available at the time of need. For the above purpose he has decided to constitute a committee consisting the experts in Persian language and urdu language and Dr. Zareena Parveen, Director, Archives, Prof Mahajabeen, Director, Dairatul Marif , Mr. Azam Hussaini and Mannan Farooqui, C.E.O . He also decided to made extensive search for suitable persons, professors, Officials, Translators. For the above purpose he decided to consult various Universities in the State who are having departments of persian and Urdu languages. A Special meeting was also called for on 28.2.2018 for the above purpose. Overall he is satisfied with the functioning of the Waqf Board.
