Chennai: In a shocking incident, a college girl was stabbed to death by a man in Chennai on Friday, who claimed to be her husband but the claim has been denied by the relatives of the deceased girl.
The deceased student of B.Com was identified as Ashwani Mohan 20-years-old was stabbed at the entrance of Meenakshi College of Engineering in KK Nagar. However, Ashwini was taken to a private hospital by her colleagues, the doctors declared her brought dead.
The locals caught the accused person Alagesan and beat him before handing him over to the police. The accused person picked up a quarrel with the girl, while she was walking on the road near the college. In a hot argument, he allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed her on his chest and stomach.
The accused, who works in the water-can supply agency, has claimed that he had married Ashwini on February 16 this year. However, the relatives of the girl denied her claim saying that she had entered the house and firmly tied ‘Mangalasutra’ her on.
The accused person told the police that after marriage, there was a crack between them and a complaint was lodged in Maduravoyal police station. The police said that accused Alagesan had gone to meet Ashwini, who had finally turned into a tragedy
