Hyderabad: The Telangana Forest Dept steps In view of the tragic accident in Theni division of Tamilnadu where precious lives were reportedly lost due to forest fire the following instructions are reiterated.
1. No unauthorized visitors will be allowed to trek in forest areas especially the fire prone areas.
2. At all exit and entry points to forest areas patrolling will be intensified and no person shall be allowed to carry matchboxes, beedis, cigarettes, lighter, etc into the forest.
3. Forest dept officers appraise the district administration on the fire sensitive areas in particular district so that addl. Measures can be taken for fire prevention and management as part of the District Disaster Management Plan.
4. Involving all the stakeholders including Govt. Employees, Green brigade members, Haritha Rakshana Samiithies, etc in this campaign.
5. Will ensure that new fire lines are created in all fire prone areas and old fire lines maintained.
6. Addl. Blowers Will be procured as per local need.
7. Base Camp watchers and strike force members will be deployed in fire prone areas.
8. Counseling of beedi leaf khalledars, BL Contractors and their agents be intensified, apart from shepherds, cattle owners and NTFP collectors.
9. All fire alerts be immediately acted upon and manpower including fire station personnel deployed to control the forest fires.
10. Through local print and electronic media it should be conveyed to all to not you venture into forest and risk their lives especially in fire prone areas.
