Hyderabad: The Participating as Chief Guest at the CII Summit held at Hyderabad on Friday, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E.S.L. Narasimhan, said that the Governments should work towards welfare of common people. Governments and industry have greater role to play in ensuring zero polluting industries, said the Governor. He said it is the responsibility of Governments and the industry to see to it that the common man has access to quality education and affordable health care. Government said it high time introspection is made by the Governments and the industry and make an assessment of how far we have succeeded in providing basic needs of common man such as potable water, education, quality health care and employment. He said that the captains of industry have a responsibility to address these issues and come up plans to declare the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as zero polluting states.
The Governor said Media also has a responsible role to play in this regard. He said ours is a great nation with rich heritage and great culture with a population which is diverse but living together in harmony. Governor further said that the demographic dividend that we are all talking about should not become demographic nightmare. He said governments and industry have to contribute for all round development of the society in a very big way. On this occasion Governor presented Haritha Haram awards. Chief Secretary SK Joshi and Principal Secretary, IT. Jayesh Ranjan, have also participated in the programme.
