Hyderabad: The Telangana Advocate General D Prakash Reddy on Monday submitted his resignation to the state government, citing personal reasons.
The Sources close to the state law department said that Mr. Reddy is upset that the state government has engaged Supreme Court senior lawyer Harish Salve of the Supreme Court to argue before the High Court in the case of Congress legislator Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy and A Sampat Kumar Without consulting him Mr. Reddy took charge as AG on July 19, 2017. Sources said that the assurance given by Mr. Reddy was embarrassing the state that video footage of the Governor’s address to the House will be presented in a sealed cover in the court.
That Mr. Reddy had promised to produce video footage by 22nd March. But that day Additional Advocate General appeared in the court instead of Mr. Reddy and asked for more time. The court ordered the submission of footage on 27th February. A day before this date, AG left his position. Sources indicated that the government is trying to convince Mr. Reddy to stay.
